On the morning of June 15, 2023, the Rocky Mountain Combined Tactical Team executed a “high risk” search warrant in the 2900 block of Riverside Drive, City of Idaho Springs, COLO. The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division located suspected fentanyl, methamphetamines, and firearms inside the residence. Mr. Jesse Speed, age 46, was arrested for felony possession of weapons by a previously convicted offender, possession of more than 4 grams of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and body artist violation of parental consent for minors.

Shortly thereafter, investigators discovered that Mr. Speed had offered to obtain drugs and firearms for others. Mr. Speed is a previously convicted felon who also has a conviction for illegally tattooing juveniles in Kansas.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about Mr. Speed’s contact with juveniles to contact investigators with the Sheriff’s Office at 303-679-2393.
