How to Obtain Police Reports

Police reports from the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office are publicly available to anyone wishing to learn more about an incident in which a police report was filed with the Sheriff's Office. Handwritten Deputy field reports are transcribed and recorded into a computerized record system, and then printouts are made available to those who request them by submitting a brief form. By Colorado state law, some sensitive information contained in the police report may be redacted before it is made available to requesting parties.

Requesting Reports

The police report request form can be obtained by visiting the Sheriff's Office, or by downloading the Police Report Request Form (PDF).

A member of the Records Division will contact the requester to let them know the cost of the report,  which must be prepaid prior to release of the report.   Payments can be made in cash,  check,  or money order made payable to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office.  Electronic Checks and Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) are accepted in person or by phone with a service fee of 2.7%.   To pay by phone,  call (303) 679-2376,  Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (excluding holidays).  Find our fee schedule.  Link to page
