Extreme Weather and Traffic Conditions Policy:
*** PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR THE WEATHER ***
During inclement weather, the decision to run service or not will be based on public safety and road conditions. Clear Creek County will monitor the weather, assess road conditions, and consult with CCC Sheriff’s Department officials to determine whether service can be safely provided. During inclement weather, passengers should note that buses will be running slower than normal. Be patient and please be sure to bundle up accordingly (coat, hat, gloves, umbrella, etc.)
In the Case of an I-70 Shut Down
In the event that I-70 is closed due to weather, or accidents, the Roundabout will not continue to run; it will drop off current riders and get them to the safest destination possible. If we foresee this happening, we will start a roster of passengers and locations that we have dropped off, to make sure everyone gets to a safe destination. Following this drop off, all routes will be halted for the day.
Level 1
Light snow/rainfall, roads clear of snow and ice. Drivers will continue the route as planned, speeds may be reduced and caution taken. Route times may be delayed.
Level 2
Moderate snow/rainfall, sticking to roads. Route could have a delayed start depending on roads. If this is the case, updates will be provided hourly. Drivers will continue the routes as planned, speeds will be reduced, and route times delayed. Drop-down chains will be used if needed, which does slow the bus speed. Check website for additional information.
Level 3
Heavy snow/rainfall or I-70 shut down due to accidents or mass amounts of snow. Drivers will assess the situation and communicate with administration and Sheriff’s office to determine if we will continue to run. Check website for additional information.
