DENVER - Today, Governor Polis announced a process to review applications and recommend finalists to him for the appointment of an unaffiliated Clear Creek County Commissioner for District II. District II comprises the southeast portion of the county and includes the western part of Evergreen and a large portion of the Floyd Hill community. A map of the Clear Creek County Commissioner jurisdictions can be found here.

The vacancy was created by the passing of Commissioner Sean Wood on May 6, 2024. This appointment will serve until January 14, 2025, when the next regularly elected commissioner takes office.

“I encourage all public-service-minded residents who live in District II, which includes southeast Clear Creek County, to apply for this Commissioner position. Clear Creek County needs strong leadership to continue the important work of the county in the wake of the tragic passing of Commissioner Sean Woods,” said Governor Jared Polis.

Those interested should submit a resume and cover letter to: boards@state.co.us no later than May 12, 2024. The Governor’s Office will interview qualified applicants and provide the Governor with a list of recommended finalists for him to make the appointment by May 16, 2024.

The salary for the Clear Creek Commissioner is $84,373.90/annually plus benefits.
