On Wednesday, May 21, Clear Creek County Sheriff Matthew D. Harris presented a $500.00 scholarship to Clear Creek High School Senior Pressley King. The scholarship is funded by the County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC) and is administered by the Sheriff’s Office every two years. This year’s recipient is highly deserved of the scholarship award, to be used for the 2025-2026 school year at a college, university, or trade school in Colorado.
During her high school career, Ms. King maintained a 4.0 GPA while participating in multiple sports, including volleyball, soccer, track, and basketball. She also served in student government and on the National Honors Society, as well as being involved in many community-related activities and events.
Sheriff Harris explains “Pressley is as active in the community as she is in school and her experiences in both will contribute to her success as she pursues a career in early childhood education. With Pressley as a role model, I am confident her future elementary students will have no need for our future deputies!”
Ms. King has the brightest future of them all and we wish her luck with her educational endeavors.
