[ARCHIVED] Slash info after windstorms

A generic graphic that says

The county has been receiving inquiries regarding slash removal from last week's severe windstorms. The following options are available to residents; however, we may also have additional information regarding slash later this week.

  • Residents can apply for a burn permit through their local fire department. Permits will be in effect through March 2026. Those applying for a burn permit must also apply for an air quality permit from CDPHE. Links to permit information and applications are available on the county's website at https://www.clearcreekcounty.us/Faq.aspx?QID=185.
  • The Clear Creek Fire Authority will chip neighborhoods/HOA areas for free throughout the winter, for residents in their jurisdiction. Neighbors are asked to coordinate their slash collection and arrange chipping with CFFA once the neighborhood is ready: https://www.clearcreekfire.com/burn-info
  • Evergreen Fire Rescue will be able to chip affected areas in their jurisdiction this spring, when seasonal staff returns. Slash piles should be placed next to the roadway with cut ends facing the road. The piles should be no larger than 5'x5'x5': https://www.evergreenfirerescue.com/divisions/fire_prevention/index.php
