Building Inspection Request/Cancellation Form

    *If you do not know the official address, please refer to your building permit or inspection card. It will be on both.

  5. Short Term Rental Inspection
  6. Demolition

    1. All Gas Lines removed to edge of property
    2. All Electrical Lines removed to edge of property
    3. All debris removed Off Site
    4. Grading restored to Original/natural state

  7. Window/Siding Inspection(s) Needed

    Manufacturer's installation specifications must be available at the time of the inspection and NFRC labels must be present on the new windows.

  8. Re-Roof

    Inspections for Re-roofs:

    A ladder must be provided at the time of each inspection. In the event of snow at the time of the requested inspection, the owner or contractor will need to request a new inspection after the roof is clear of snow.

    1. Mid Roof is required for all roofs when the underlayment is applied.**

    **For roofs with special Class A rated assemblies, the mid-roof is required prior to application of the final roof covering; i.e. shingles, membrane or other material.

  9. SFR Inspections
    1. Footing must have rebar in place, but no concrete poured.
    2. Grounding Electrode required at both the Footing and Foundation inspections.
    3. Foundation must have rebar in place, but no concrete pored.
    4. Deck Piers must have any required rebar in place, but no concrete poured.
    5. Perimeter Foundation Drain must have all gravel and piping in place, prior to backfill.
    6. Foundation Damp-proofing inspected prior to backfill.

    You have the option of having the inspections be performed by the Licenses Engineer or Architect for the project or you may request the inspections from the Building Inspector. If inspected by the Engineer or Architect, the option Foundation Compliance Form provided by this Department must be completed and submitted to the Building Department.

    1. Foundation Insulation inspected prior to pouring of slab.

    When scheduling inspections with the County, if possible, please schedule inspections 5, 6 and 7 at the same time.

    1. Underground Plumbing water test or air test of number 5 required on DWV.
    2. Shower Pan has water test in liner.
    3. In-floor Radiant Heat Tubing requires number 100 test.
    4. Rough Plumbing test of number 60 required on water lines, number 15 on gas lines and number 5 on DWV. The field card must be signed by the Plumber with the license number and expiration date of the license.
    5. Gas Line number 15 required on the gas line.
    6. Fireplace all gas fireplaces need outside shutoff.
    7. Rough Heating when LPG appliances are installed in basement or pit a daylighted drain or gas detector with shut off is required
    8. Rough Electric is permitted and inspected by State Electrical Inspector 303-894-2300. Please have the field card signed by the inspector or a copy of his inspection report.
    9. Braced Wall Construction inspection to be done when all required strapping, nailing and hold-downs are installed.
    10. Mid Roof required for all roofs when the underlayment is applied.
    11. Exterior Building Wrap inspection to be done prior to the window installation and after Building Wrap is installed.
    12. Framing must have truss manufacturer's specifications on site.

    If possible, schedule rough plumbing, rough heating and framing at the same time. If it is not possible all roughs including electrical needs to be approved prior to the framing inspection.

    1. Fenestration can be done at Framing, please have all energy code information labeling on the windows and doors.
    2. Insulation have installers certificate on site.
    3. Drywall Nail must not begin mudding and taping until inspection has been approved.
    4. Final Electrical performed by State Electrical Inspector 303-894-2300
    5. Final Plumbing must have hot and cold running water.
    6. Final Heating furnace, boiler, and water heater must all be operating
    7. Final Building everything must be completed, site cleaned and address clearly posted.,

    Must have all final approvals for Driveway, Defensible Space, OWTS (Septic), Electric and any other Commercial Development Department's requirement, prior to the final building inspection and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy.

  10. Mechanical Inspections

    The following inspection stages are required by the International Residential Code and Clear Creek County Building Department:

    1. Gas Line number 15 pressure required on the gas line

    2. Fireplace all gas fireplace appliances need outside shutoff.

    3. Rough Heating when LPG appliances are installed in basement or pit a daylighted drain or gas detector with shut off is required.

    4. Rough Electric is permitted and inspected by the State Electrical Inspector - 303-894-2300. Please have the field card signed by the inspector or a copy of his inspection report.

    5. Final Electric performed by State Electrical Inspector – 303- 894-2300

    6. Final Heating furnace, boiler, and water heater must all be operating. Carbon monoxide detectors will also be verified.

  11. Commercial Inspections

    1. Footing must have rebar in place, but no concrete poured

    2. Grounding Electrode required at both the Footing and the Foundation Inspections

    3. Foundation must have rebar in place, but no concrete poured

    4. Deck Piers must have any required rebar in place, but no concrete poured

    5. Perimeter Foundation Drain must have all gravel and piping in place, prior to backfill

  15. Inspection Times*

    Because of the limited number of inspectors and the size of the territory that is covered, we are not able to set the time of the inspections. Building inspections are performed Mondays through Fridays. Inspections must be requested by 4:30 pm on a working day, in order to be scheduled on the following inspection day.
